ANEMONE

POSTMODERN BOTANICA LOOK_03

The starting point for my collection is a flower guide my mother gave me when I was a child. With each change of season, we would go on walks together, searching for local flowers from the guide. My parents immigrated with me to Israel when I was young, and through this intimate tradition, my mother planted in me a deep love for the land. Each piece in the collection is inspired by a different Israeli wildflower and features original prints based on photographs I’ve taken over the years. Through my camera lens, I explored the complexity of wildflowers—their forms, textures, colors, and reproductive structures. I then layered these images with hand embroidery, created silk prints from real flowers, and painted with oil to develop a visual language of my own. The flowers’ shapes also guided the creation of new garment patterns. The result is a contemporary, emotional, and deeply personal interpretation of each flower.

FROM SKETCHBOOK TO TEXTILE

Inspired by a Friday when my grandpa brought grandma anemones for Shabbat, I captivated by their form. I preserved their petals in my sketchbook, which sparked the design for a physical, wearable piece.

TEXTILE DEVELOPMENT

The jacket's embroidery draws from preserved petals. I hand-cut and embroidered fabric to reflect their colors, celebrating winter blooms.

DRAPING AND SILHOUETTE

The silhouette was crafted on a model, emphasizing a voluminous anemone-like shape. Asymmetrical folds suggest layered petals while maintaining a modern structure.
