DOLLY'S DENIM
EVENING WEAR STUDIO
Inspired by the iconic Dolly Parton and her song "Coat of Many Colors," this look features a dress crafted from 50 pairs of jeans sourced from my community. I incorporated laser-cut ornamental motifs from her lyrics in order to illustrate her world through varying shades of denim.

STRAIGHT ON THE MANNEQUIN
The silhouette was crafted with masking tape on dress form, creating precise lines that celebrate Dolly's curves. This streamlined design honors her early songs, balancing strength and simplicity.
LYRIC-INSPIRED LASER CUTTING
I created laser-cut motifs inspired by Dolly's "My Tennessee Mountain Home" to reflect her world. Her memories of honeysuckle and fireflies became cut-outs, replacing lace and revealing underlying "scraps," honoring herwork history in a modern way.

SUSTAINABILITY & COMMUNITY
This sustainable fashion project upcycles 50 community jeans into an indigo spectrum reflecting shared history. The rugged exterior contrasts with a vibrant pink lining, symbolizing Dolly's fun femininity.
