POSTMODERN BOTANICA LOOK_01
The starting point for my collection is a flower guide my mother gave me when I was a child. With each change of season, we would go on walks together, searching for local flowers from the guide. My parents immigrated with me to Israel when I was young, and through this intimate tradition, my mother planted in me a deep love for the land. Each piece in the collection is inspired by a different Israeli wildflower and features original prints based on photographs I’ve taken over the years. Through my camera lens, I explored the complexity of wildflowers—their forms, textures, colors, and reproductive structures. I then layered these images with hand embroidery, created silk prints from real flowers, and painted with oil to develop a visual language of my own. The flowers’ shapes also guided the creation of new garment patterns. The result is a contemporary, emotional, and deeply personal interpretation of each flower.

SCREEN PRINTING
This textile design features real wildflowers I collected and scanned. The digital scans were turned into a repeat pattern and hand screen-printed onto fabric, resulting in unique prints with organic variations in shape and tone.

HANDCRAFTED PROCESSES
I created this textile by sewing fabric onto batting for a quilted texture. I layered fabric petals and leaves, finishing with beads and crystals for sparkle.

Pattern Development
I created the piece by making a pattern on the dress form with tape mapping curves and seams. This allowed me to explore fit before making a flat.
