HAMSA A'LAICH
BRIDAL AVANT-GARDE STUDIO
For this look, I drew inspiration from the jewelry of Jewish brides in Arab and North African countries. The Hamsa, fish, bird, and crescent are symbols of fertility and health, which the bride adorns herself with on her wedding day. I aimed to bring a modern twist to these stunning objects, often viewed as outdated or primitive. They represent the story of a fascinating jewish life that perished. Using satin, I created a dress that is also a piece of jewelry, with gold embroidery outlining each shape.

COLLAGE SKETCHES
I began the design process by studying the Israel Museum's jewelry exhibition. Using Photoshop, I created a digital collage of bridal ornaments, allowing me to imagine their meanings and form new silhouettes. This collage served as the blueprint for the final garment, rooted in the original pieces' geometry.
LASER CUTTING & MACHINE EMBROIDERY
The dress merges ancient symbols with modern technology laser-cutting for the Hamsa, fish, bird, and crescent. Gold outlines from machine embroidery create a traditional look with industrial precision.

THE JEWELRY DRESS
The silhouette transforms the garment into jewelry with luxurious satin that drapes like an ornament.
